Prior to shipping, each typewriter undergoes a thorough cleaning and is double-checked by our technical team to ensure its optimal functioning.     We always work hard to make these machines shine and type smoothly again. They're taken apart, thoroughly cleaned, reassembled, oiled and adjusted. Also polished or repainted if needed and if it's possible, we revitalize a carrying case as well. It means it’s cleaned, painted or the stains on the plastic are removed, locks are repaired or replaced. If you buy it as a present for someone special, we can add a typed note from you :) We will do it even if it is a gift for yourself! We can customize the entire gift- from the colour of a typewriter to handmade paper sheets. 

     

    Quality Certificates 

    As part of our commitment to quality assurance, we provide video proof of the typewriter's testing process and the typing of an inspection report page. This serves as evidence for the insurance company and gives us peace of mind knowing that the typewriter has been thoroughly examined.

    You will find a copy of the certificate of the quality and the test page along with the typewriter's serial number, legal invoice, and shipping documents, attached to your order. The video proof is available online on request.

    1-Year Typewriter Warranty

     

     Terms & Conditions

    1. The warranty begins from the day of delivery and comprises the gratuitous repair of all defects and damage due to faults in manufacture or material.
    2. To activate our worldwide guarantee, you need to send us an e-mail (contact@typewriter.company) confirming receipt of the product in good working condition within 7 days of delivery.
    3. With no online guarantee activation, your typewriter is still covered by our online technical support or if you are an EU resident standard customer guarantee. Please read the conditions here
    4. The person who is buying a typewriter or an adult receiver is a warranty holder.
    5. The warranty is not transferable (or we agree before purchase otherwise if it is a gift for example)
    6. The claims under guarantee have to be declared directly to our customer service by email
    7. The claim for change or compensation is not contained in the guarantee.
    8. The guarantee expires: if the machine changes its owner and if repairs or modifications are carried out by third parties. The warranty holder is not responding to our calls and emails more than 30 days after reporting us a claim under warranty, we are reserving the right to close a claim without resolving the issue and not accepting other claims in the future.
    9. Authorized Repair Shops: Furthermore, it becomes null if the typewriter repair was undertaken in a workshop not chosen by our typewriter company.
    10. What is included in the warranty: mechanical failure - includes the main spring, internal springs and levers, the typeface, return mechanism, shift mechanics, escapement, margins, ribbon vibrator, ribbon advance mechanism and spacing functions.
    11. What is not covered: Any damage in transit, issue or malfunction caused by direct or indirect, intentional or unintentional neglect, abuse, accidents, improper care, improper storage, theft, shipping damage, installing ribbon incorrectly or misuse will not be covered by this warranty.
    12. Parts not included in the warranty: rubber feet, platen, feed rollers, bumpers, metal or chrome plated parts, varnish, decals, old paint, plastic or glass key tops, spools, ribbons and any other wear during using the Typewriter.
    13. The guarantee expressly excludes cleaning of the machine and defects due to improper handling and unsuitable accessories.
    14. Please note that using the typewriter with mechanical issues can provoke other damages to the mechanism and automatically the guarantee expires.

    Important: Your collaboration, trust and patience are necessary to resolve the issue promptly.

    In the rare event that a typewriter arrives damaged, we want to make it right for you. Our dedicated team is here to assist you every step of the way. Please provide us with the necessary details and evidence of the damage, and we will initiate the necessary actions to rectify the situation. 

     

    1. Document the damage: Take clear photos or videos of the damaged typewriter, ensuring that the extent of the damage is clearly visible. This evidence will be crucial when filing a claim with the shipping company or insurance provider.
    2. Contact us and the shipping company: Reach out to the shipping company as soon as possible to report the damage. Provide them with a detailed description of the situation and any evidence you have gathered. They will guide you on the next steps to take and may initiate a claims process.
    3. Review the shipping insurance: If you purchased shipping insurance, review the terms and conditions to understand what damages are covered and how to file a claim. Follow the insurer's instructions precisely, providing all necessary documentation and information.
    4. Keep all packaging materials: Retain the original packaging, including the box, bubble wrap, and any other materials used for shipping. The shipping company or insurance provider may require these items for inspection or evidence.
    5. Follow the claims process: Whether it's through the shipping company or insurance provider, comply with their claims process. This typically involves completing claim forms, providing supporting documents, and possibly arranging an inspection of the damaged typewriter.
    6. Repair or compensation: Depending on the extent of the damage and the value of the typewriter, we may have the option to seek repairs or request compensation for the item's diminished value. We will help you work with the shipping company or insurance provider to determine the best course of action.

     

    Typewriter Repair

     

    We know that you need the typewriter as soon as possible, and we will work hard to get back these machines to perfect working condition.

    We are always sorry to hear that your typewriter was damaged during transit. We cared a lot to wrap it and prepare it for a safe journey.

    Things happen and we know dealing with damaged items can be frustrating, but we can provide you with some general guidance on how to handle this situation smoothly.

    During repair, our dedicated team is here to assist you every step of the way. The typewriter repair process can take from one week up to 60 days depends on the damage and your location.

    Please provide us with the necessary details and evidence of the damage, and we will initiate the necessary actions to rectify the situation.

    The repair will be carried out in the workshop or service stations named by us, or in case of necessity, in our workshop based in Spain.

    During repair, we reserve the right to change or modify details on the typewriter due to the antique or vintage nature of the product. For example, broken knobs can be replaced with 3D replicas etc They won't change the overall appearance of the machine and will always be treated as improvements. We will care about everything to make it work again as it was before we shipped.

     

    Please note:

    Any defects that may have occurred in transport must be reported by e-mail within 7 days of delivery. By failing to do so, you waive your right to the insurance and our Typewriter Warranty.
