The Olympia SM7 manual vintage typewriter, whose name stands for ‘Schreibmaschine Mittelgross’ (medium-size typewriter), was produced by the West German company. Beloved by writers including J.G. Ballard, Harlan Ellison, Neil Simon, and Paul Auster, this particular typewriter has a fascinating history. Manufactured in Wilhelmshaven, a coastal town in Lower Saxony, Germany, it traveled to New York before finally being found in Costa del Sol, Spain.
